As psychologists, we often depend on therapeutic models and interventions that target the unique symptoms of distinct disorders.
But people are not their disorders, and psychotherapy is about understanding and working with the person sitting across from us.
Mapping the Individual is a 3-hour workshop designed to teach psychologists how to think about, understand, and work with personality in psychotherapy.
Part one focuses on theory and understanding, while part two features case vignettes, live supervision, and hands-on learning opportunities.
This workshop will help psychologists:
Understand how common personality patterns and dynamics shape people’s thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and behaviour
Understand the relationship between personality patterns/dynamics and personality disorders
Understand how to identify and work with common personality patterns in psychotherapy, across all pathologies and in the context of personality disorders
Participants who complete this workshop are eligible to receive three continuing education credits, recognized by l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec.
